As a leader in the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer, UCA is proud to be a major sponsor of the 2015 Run for Dad 5K in Mercer County Park on June 21st.
Join Us on June 21st as UCA Helps Raise Awareness for Prostate Cancer Research.
Prostate Cancer is the most prevalent type of cancer impacting American men. In 2015, approximately 220,000 men in the US will be diagnosed with prostate cancer and over 27,000 will die from the disease. New Jersey has the third highest incidence per capita of prostate cancer in the US. Even worse, in African American men, the incidence is roughly 60% higher than those of white or Asian men. There is good news however. The 5-year survival rate for men whose prostate cancer is detected early is nearly 100% and 93% of men diagnosed with prostate cancer will live 10 years or more. Education, awareness and personal action are saving lives and finding a cure.
Come join us for the 13th annual RUN FOR DAD on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 21st, 2015. This year the event returns to the beautiful Mercer County Park.
RUN FOR DAD is the American Cancer Society’s premiere community event to raise funds and build awareness about prostate cancer. Last year, over 1,200 people participated in RUN FOR DAD. Proceeds from the event support prostate cancer research, local programs for patients, and family services for those newly diagnosed with Prostate Cancer.
RUN FOR DAD honors the memory of Frank Simms, co-founder of the Run, who lost his battle with prostate cancer in 2005. To register or learn more about the event, visit the American Cancer Society website at:
