The Mercer County Medical Society members elected Steven Orland, MD, of Pennington president-elect during the Society’s Annual Meeting at the Abud Family Foundation for the Arts on June 25. A urologist at Urology Care Alliance (with offices in Newton, PA and Pennington, NJ), Dr. Orland has served as a member of the Society’s Board of Directors and in several other leadership roles since 2004.
Dr. Steven Orland graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Princeton University in 1977, with an A.B. degree. He then attended Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons, in New York City, and graduated Alpha Omega Alpha, with his M.D. degree, in 1981. Dr. Orland followed with a two-year general surgery residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, and then completed a four-year urology residency at the same institution, finishing in 1987. Dr. Orland is Board Certified in Urology.
Since then, Dr. Orland has been engaged in the private practice of urology with Urology Care Alliance, maintaining offices in both Mercer County, NJ and Bucks County, PA. He has also lectured extensively, to both physician groups, as well as the general public, on a variety of urologic topics.
Dr. Orland will succeed Ariel Abud, MD, who has served as the Society’s president since 2012. The Society’s Board of Directors includes leading physicians from across Mercer County. Established in 1848, the Mercer County Medical Society serves to foster, encourage, strengthen and sustain the bonds of professional and social relations among members of the medical profession.
